Dating
from the late 1500s, the castle has been residence to several
families from the military and the aristocracy, finally becoming
the summer residence of Karl XV, King of Sweden, and later his
daughter Louise, Queen of Denmark, during the second half of
the 19th century. The middle floor of the Castle consists of
various magnificent State Rooms which appear much as they did
at the time of Karl XV. All rooms are located on the upper floor
and are large with expansive views over the gardens. All rooms
are classed as Price Category 1 accommodation.
